About Manhattan Fine Foods Inc.

We are a salad dressing manufacturer and supplier in Nanaimo, BC, specializing in dry mixes, dips, and our Sneaky Pete Spice Rub for ribs, chicken, or fish. These condiments are quick and easy to prepare and have been perfected over decades.

During the past thirty years, our company has constantly evolved to stay relevant. We started off as a Mediterranean family restaurant and branched out from there.

Alongside running two restaurants, we began selling our unique Manhattan Dressing to local grocery stores and opened a catering company, Big apple Catering, primarily serving corporate functions.

However, COVID-19 hit our catering business significantly in 2020, and since we had sold off our last restaurant in 2018, we had to seek alternative revenue streams. Therefore, we came up with a ghost or virtual kitchen concept where we sell innovative pasta kits to Canadian restaurants offering delivery services during the pandemic. Our recently launched online website also sells dips and spice rubs to customers across Canada.

One aspect that makes us second to none is our small, close-knit team that works hard in the kitchen from Monday to Friday. Our cooks adapt to any situation and are always willing to take on fresh challenges, as our management has instilled a mantra to never give up.

What also sets us apart is that our tasty spices enhance our customers’ meals considerably. These quality products are healthy and don’t contain preservatives, MSG, fillers, or added colors, making us successful.

One of our most significant achievements was receiving at least six awards, including Restaurateur of the Year, from our peers (when we owned restaurants). It was also a proud moment when our e-commerce website went live with our popular dressings.

Our dream for the future is to grow our online business by creating more delicious dressings and spices to add to our range.

While we are passionate about what we do, we also care about protecting the environment and, in this endeavor, maintain a green policy in our kitchen.

We also believe in giving back to society and, as part of that belief, sponsor breast cancer and kidney walk-a-thons.
